The answer to your question is found in the Hebrew word, “Shalom,” peace, the most fundamental of all greetings in the language. When you greet someone with “Peace” you imply or understand the possibility of the opposite. You are wishing them peace, or you are asking them if there exits peace in their life. You know that there is no road without a bump in it. Whatever goes, returns? Hardship is/was in store, but no harm will come ultimately because there is a God. If you don’t mind the problems and continue to enjoy life, you will struggle to overcome the bad. Peace. The Yemenite Jews as well as all Jews greet each other with this word. It does not matter if they just joined the Jewish religion or they have always been there. It is just a road and they are all on it. Once you are on that path, greet your fellows with “Shalom.”
