A talmid of r. Arusi replies: I do not understand the st after the sin? The difference between sin and samekh is entirely grammatic and bears no difference on pronunciation. Although if one is accurately trying to convey spelling in translation I suppose that there is a need for a difference. I am familiar mostly with transliteration of Arabic and not the rules for hebrew. I can only deduce from what i know abot the standard rules for Yemenite pronunciation of hebrew since there are some obvious similarities. Even among the Arabic transliterators there are some differences. The hardest part I find is finding an English font that provides all of these symbols.
