Halicoth Teman: Sifirath ha'omer
Counting the Omer was done in the language of Aramaic and so this is the order. Head of the central Synagogue (BK) announces (in Aramaic) "yesterday it was 'so and so' day of the omer", in order make known how many days (into the omer) it is today (without directly saying it out loud), later on he makes the blessing "al sifirath ha omer" and everybody answers amen (there is no repeating the blessing) and count.
Here, Rabbi Qafah describes different structures for stating the current day of the omer in the blessing. I am skipping this part and advising everyone to follow their siddur...........
......The expression "asr" is translated as ten built-in with Arabic (evening) difficult and not successful. "Therefore, a part of the people have a tradition and people of the land are abstaining from starting business or building, from the tenth day of the omer until the thirtieth in it, in order to not start in these days to commemorate in the sefira "asr" "asrin" for they are difficult days that lack luck. (Rabbi Qafah also references a work that deals with marriage here but does not give many details].
In all the ancient prayer books of Yemen, and in all the scrolls of the old (ancient) wise men of Yemen, there is no mention of traditions (a particular tradition) of mourning traditions in the days of the omer, although there are indications that these traditions were already mentioned in the words of the Gaonim, although (even though) their spreading (occurred) in the later time of a few of the traditions of mourning. Our tradition is not to marry a women until after the 33rd day of the omer and thus we are strict about not cutting hair until the 33rd day of the omer.
On this question, the Mahari's writes the following in a book called Paoloth Saddiq:
"Our ancient tradition to cut hair during the days of the omer, on Erev Pesahh, for the holines of the Sabbath, as was done in the words of the prophet:---preferable custom--as it is written and read for the Joy of the Sabbath. And related, the same as fortieth year, next wise one [what] the sea and force the community, this is not the will, by means of our master רשב"א (Rav Shimi bar Ashi or Shimon ben Elazar)
